A Passion For Missions-March 2004

Acts 1:8 NLT “ But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Let me share with you our latest miracle. We listed our home and the first couple who looked at it purchased it. It is very evident that God’s hand is in this.

Have you ever stepped into a room and felt energy and excitement flowing through your inner most being. I have and I want to share it with you.

This year was Missions Fest Edmonton’s tenth anniversary. Rod and I had the opportunity to help man YUGO Canada’s information booth in the Shaw Conference Center.

There was excitement in the air. God had been working and placing his call on the heart of His people. Many from all over Canada caught the vision of God’s Great Harvest.

One of the key note speakers, Floyd McClung shared the simple truth of God’s love for the lost. He shared it had nothing to do with your ability but about how available you were.

These words pierced my own heart. At times I feel like Moses with his feelings of inadequacy but daily the Lord encourages me to continue on.

Did you know we were all designed for passion that brings pleasure. We all have the capacity to go nuts over something. What is your passion?

Mine is missions. If you have a chance to go on a missions trip, TAKE IT! People find passion for serving once they have experienced short term missions.

YUGO missionary, Stacey Fredrick has found her passion. She has a burden for the women that are released from the Le Mesa Prison. These women will return to their life styles of drugs and prostitution if they are not given the opportunity to truly start over.

Stacey has a burden to start a home for these women. The name of the home will be El Faro, which is light house in English. Stacey’s hope is that these women will become lights in their world after they go through a 12 step recovery program.

Hudson Taylor said, “ God’s work done God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” I thank God for those that have partnered with us. Whether you pray, give or go, we reach the world together for Christ.
