Greeting from Mexico Family & Friends.

Two weeks each summer are set aside to fly to Canada to visit my daughters, grandchildren and family members. Unfortunately Francisco is not able to come with me. Most years we only see each other once a year and the time we spend together is treasured. My grandkids are growing in leaps and bounds. I returned to Mexico with my heart overflowing with hugs and lots of love.

We have close to 100 men, women, teens and children gathering with us on the Road to Recovery weekly. Our Celebrate Recovery participants find safe places to share their personal struggles while building community and learning to draw closer to God. We had fun gat our annual Summer gathering with our Celebrate Recovery family to indulge in traditional Mexican dishes, pizza a wonderful time fellowshipping.

Francisco & I love Celebrate Recovery Fellowship Events

We were pleased that Pastor Tito, his wife Vanessa, Leslie and Omar were able to join us. The two couples have a calling to start Celebrate Recovery in Ensenada. Pastor Tito and his team will be joining our monthly CR Advanced Leadership Training as they prepare to launch their own Celebrate Recovery program in Conquistando Fronteras Church in Ensenada. Having Celebrate Recovery in Ensenada is a wonderful gift for “Our Girl’s” on the inside of the Ensenada Prison, giving them the opportunity to continue their recovery once they are released from prison.

PRISON MINISTRY

Life comes with all kinds of twists, turns and unexpected detours. Sometimes God’s purposes unfold slowly. Seasons of hardship are never wasted.

Thirteen years ago, God orchestrated a plan! Our prison ministry team and another ministry that serve in the Ensenada prison were led to intervene on behalf of a 19-year-old inmate named Brenda. Brenda was pregnant and ready to give birth. Brenda was in anguish knowing that babies born in the prison system are apprehended by DIF (social services), with a chance that Brenda would never see her baby again.

Donors from the Mexico Recovery Ministry donated funds to pay Brenda’s bail so she could be released from prison and placed in a restoration home. Pastor Carlos and his wife Lupita welcomed Brenda with open arms. Shortly after baby Anya came into the world, Brenda left her behind in the care of Pastor Carlos and Lupita and never returned. Anya thrived in her new home, a place where she was loved and cherished. When Pastor Carlos and Lupita found out Brenda had passed away, they adopted Anya.

We know today God has a special purpose for 13-year-old Anya as she continues to walk close to Jesus. She is brilliant in school, has a beautiful servant’s heart, serves willingly at church, and sings on the worship team. We look forward to hearing how God will use her life to impact others around her.

To change the world, we just need to see the needs around us. God has given each of us different gifts and talents so we can use them to be his hands and feet in serving the lost and broken. Francisco and thank you for your willingness to pray and to give generously to the Mexico Recovery Ministry.
