The Angel's in Heaven are Rejoicing-Jun 2025

Greetings Family & Friends
“Making Memories” in Canada always does my heart good. In April, I travelled to Canada to spend time with my dad while Francisco had the house tented for termites. These unwanted little varmints cause great damage to homes built of wood. While Francisco was working hard at home, I was staying busy. I know, you feel bad for Francisco, but we did meet in Puerto Vallarta to spend a few days vacationing together before returning home to Rosarito.
My first day in Canada, I had lunch with Aunts and cousins and finished the day sharing my testimony at The Hub, a recovery program hosted by my sending church St. Albert Alliance. It was great seeing supporters of the Mexico Recovery Ministry gather to cheer me on.
Being a missionary, I often miss out on many special occasions. I cherish every single memory catching up with family, friends and supporters of the ministry. I am ever so grateful my daughter Rebekah and grandchildren were able to join me at my dad’s home for a few days to celebrate my dad’s 91st birthday and Easter while catching up with family. We had a great time.
Calvary Rosarito Celebrate Recovery
On a Wednesday night, before a midweek service, Francisco brought a lady to me. He then asked if I remembered her. Next to me stood a curly haired lady, with a great smile. We sat at a nearby table and I asked Edita (name changed for confidentiality reasons) her story.
As Edita shared her story I started putting all the pieces together until I remembered where we met. Edita had come to a Celebrate Recovery Large Group meeting. At that time, she looked tough and dressed more like a man than a woman. After each Celebrate Recovery lesson is taught, Francisco gives an invitation for the attendees to surrender their lives to Jesus. To our surprise, Edita raised her hand.
Edita joined us in an open share group. When her turn came, she opened up and shared with us her life of extreme brokenness which eventually led to a lifestyle of drugs and sexual depravity. She never returned to Celebrate Recovery after that night.
But, Edita attended church faithfully and eventually asked Francisco to baptize her. Sitting at that table before a Wednesday night service sat a woman, filled with excitement, as she shared her powerful story of being set free from drugs and a lifestyle that kept her in shame, guilt and bondage.
It is such an honor to be attending and serving in a church that allows us to host Celebrate Recovery. It is even more of an honor to see how God uses the entire body of Christ, working together, to bring the lost and broken into a place of healing and wholeness.
Prison Ministry
This year's Mother’s Day event for “Our Girls” inside the Ensenada Prison was outstanding. Worship, burritos, fellowship, games, candy and toiletry bags made for a great time. But the greatest gift of all was sharing a special Mother’s Day message followed by a call to surrender their lives to Jesus. This round of CRI (Celebrate Recovery Inside), all but one of the participants are new to the program. It was a beautiful sight to see eight women raise their hands to accept Jesus Christ to come live in their hearts. Please keep these eight women in your prayers.
If you have not had the opportunity to join Francisco and I on this journey of bringing the lost and broken down the Road to Recovery, we would ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us. Your financial gifts will help us have an even greater impact in the lives of the Mexican people.
Blessings, Cheryl & Francisco
