Out of Her Comfort Zone-July 2012

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 Pam was in her glory, she always wanted to go on a mission trip. Last year Pat & Pam joined us on a Vision Trip (a taste of missions). It was an action packed week shopping for food for a feeding program, purchasing personal gift items for the inmates, seeking out toys and candy for the children, preparing food and serving children at the feeding program, teaching crafts to “Our Girls” in the prison, and still finding enough time to take pleasure in interacting with the Mexican people and partaking in their traditional cuisines.
Pat, Cheryl & Pam enjoyed stopping for a coconut near the ocean. You see, Pam was diagnosed with Polio at 9 years of age. This crippling disease may have been an excuse for many, but not for Pam. She came out of her comfort zone and walked alongside our missionaries in serving the Mexican people. She accomplished every task set before her. This past June, after a short battle with cancer, Pam left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father. Pam traded her cane and braces for a new body that allowed her to stroll down the streets of gold hand in hand with her Maker. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pam was greeted with these words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Pam & Pat were great shoppers finding food for the feeding program.
Britney, Lauren Rebekah & Caitlin devouring tacos downtown in Tijuana. What an honor and a privilege to be able to serve here in Mexico. There is no life like it! Mixed with the passion of serving in full time ministry are other great gifts. One of our favorite gifts is receiving visits from family and friends. Recently Rebekah spent 10 days with us in Mexico, our son in law Eric was not able to come as he had to work. What fun it was to make memories with Rebekah and hear how she is enjoying married life. Our doors are always open in case you too have time to visit this coming summer.
