Not old, Not young, Not done! Oct 2026

Greetings from Mexico Family & Friends,
Not OLD, not YOUNG, Not DONE! Hearing these words brought to mind people asking Francisco and I when we will be retiring. While the Bible doesn’t address retirement, we believe we can continue serving and continue to be fruitful in this season of lives. 70 isn’t OLD, 70 isn’t YOUNG, but the one thing we know is that at 70 we are not DONE!

CELEBRATE RECOVERY ROSARITO
In September we hosted our annual Mexico Independence Day Event. The participants from Celebrate Recovery Large group meetings on Tuesday nights and Celebrate Recovery Step Studies on Thursday nights gathered together, made new friendships while creating lasting memories through fellowshipping, and savoring the taste of traditional Mexican dishes. It was fun, fun, fun!

Nereida’s Story
“As a young child I was the youngest of my siblings. I was cherished and spoiled. Around 12 my parents separated because my dad had an affair. At 17 my first child was born after being raped. Soon after I moved in with a man and we had two more children together. One day my 8-year-old son saw his dad’s picture on the front page of the paper. He thought his dad must be a hero to make the front page of the local newspaper. As it turns out my husband was most wanted for being a leader in the cartel. As a single mom, my financial situation left me desperate. I started selling drugs to feed my children. This poor decision brought me to the Ensenada prison from 2009 to 2012. It was here that I took part in Celebrate Recovery Inside. When released from prison I took my children and moved to Rosarito and started attending Calvary Rosarito. Today I am part of the Prison Ministry team that brings Celebrate Recovery Inside to the women inmates in the Ensenada Prison. Thanks for letting me share.”
We love hearing powerful testimonies like Nereida’s and know our work is not done. Each of you encourage us with your sacrificial giving, prayers and words of encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Together we are making a difference in Mexico.
Blessings, Cheryl & Francisco
