The Angel's in Heaven are Rejoicing-Jun 2025
Greetings Family & Friends
“Making Memories” in Canada always does my heart good. In April, I travelled to Canada to spend time with my dad while Francisco had the house tented for termites. These unwanted little varmints cause great damage to homes built of wood. While Francisco was working hard at home, I was staying busy. I know, you feel bad for Francisco, but we did meet in Puerto Vallarta to spend a few days vacationing together before returning home to Rosarito.
My first day in Canada, I had lunch with Aunts and cousins and finished the day sharing my testimony at The Hub, a recovery program hosted by my sending church St. Albert Alliance. It was great seeing supporters of the Mexico Recovery Ministry gather to cheer me on.
Being a missionary, I often miss out on many special occasions. I cherish every single memory catching up with family, friends and supporters of the ministry. I am ever so grateful my daughter Rebekah and grandchildren were able to join me at my dad’s home for a few days to celebrate my dad’s 91st birthday and Easter while catching up with family. We had a great time.
Calvary Rosarito Celebrate Recovery
On a Wednesday night, before a midweek service, Francisco brought a lady to me. He then asked if I remembered her. Next to me stood a curly haired lady, with a great smile. We sat at a nearby table and I asked Edita (name changed for confidentiality reasons) her story.
As Edita shared her story I started putting all the pieces together until I remembered where we met. Edita had come to a Celebrate Recovery Large Group meeting. At that time, she looked tough and dressed more like a man than a woman. After each Celebrate Recovery lesson is taught, Francisco gives an invitation for the attendees to surrender their lives to Jesus. To our surprise, Edita raised her hand.
Edita joined us in an open share group. When her turn came, she opened up and shared with us her life of extreme brokenness which eventually led to a lifestyle of drugs and sexual depravity. She never returned to Celebrate Recovery after that night.
But, Edita attended church faithfully and eventually asked Francisco to baptize her. Sitting at that table before a Wednesday night service sat a woman, filled with excitement, as she shared her powerful story of being set free from drugs and a lifestyle that kept her in shame, guilt and bondage.
It is such an honor to be attending and serving in a church that allows us to host Celebrate Recovery. It is even more of an honor to see how God uses the entire body of Christ, working together, to bring the lost and broken into a place of healing and wholeness.
Prison Ministry
This year's Mother’s Day event for “Our Girls” inside the Ensenada Prison was outstanding. Worship, burritos, fellowship, games, candy and toiletry bags made for a great time. But the greatest gift of all was sharing a special Mother’s Day message followed by a call to surrender their lives to Jesus. This round of CRI (Celebrate Recovery Inside), all but one of the participants are new to the program. It was a beautiful sight to see eight women raise their hands to accept Jesus Christ to come live in their hearts. Please keep these eight women in your prayers.
If you have not had the opportunity to join Francisco and I on this journey of bringing the lost and broken down the Road to Recovery, we would ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us. Your financial gifts will help us have an even greater impact in the lives of the Mexican people.
Blessings,
Cheryl & Francisco

Celebrate Recovery Mexico is Expanding-Apr 2025
Greetings Family and friends,
2025 started out with a bang! In January we relaunched Celebrate Recovery in Calvary Rosarito with almost 150 adults, youth and children in attendance. We also offer CR Step Studies online. We have participants from Alaska, Columbia, South Carolina, California, San Francisco and various parts of Mexico that have joined us seeking to be set free of their pain. God was faithful to provide servant leaders to fill every single position needed to walk participants on this year’s Road to Recovery.
Our goal is to see people respond to God’s healing hand in their lives and hear the gospel shared through the Celebrate Recovery materials. Watching Celebrate Recovery participants be set free from dysfunctional behaviors have empowered others to raise up and offer to serve alongside us. It takes strength and courage to stand up, share where we’ve come from to where God has brought us, and then use our gifts and talents to serve Him.
It is so beautiful to see how Celebrate Recovery has grown and continues to bear fruit across Mexico. We just emailed 19 certificates to men in a rehab center that completed their first set of Celebrate Recovery Step Studies online with Jose Michel. He is just one of our Celebrate Recovery online Step Study leaders. Modern technology never ceases to amaze us.
Pastor Dio is from our local church, and has been working in a local rehabilitation center. Recently he has been assigned the position of Pastoral Care over the patients at the rehab center. The plan is to bring Celebrate Recovery into this rehab center so others struggling with addictions can find a closer walk with Jesus, and freedom from their hurts, habits and hang-ups. It has been an honor for Francisco and I help Pastor Dio prepare for this new adventure.
Pastor Dio is one of 17 pastors at Calvary RosaritoAs servant leaders of Celebrate Recovery, none of us do the work set before us on our own strength or abilities, we do it with God’s guidance. Through much prayer, we have seen God’s faithfulness in sending us committed servant leaders not only in Celebrate Recovery in our local church, online and outside the church. God knows every our need and has been faithful to full positions where the needs are greatest. PRISON MINISTRY Let me share with you Dana’s story (name changed for security reasons). Dana was one of the female inmates in the Celebrate Recovery Inside program inside the Ensenada Prison. I will never forget Dana’s response when I asked her what she was grateful for. She told me she was grateful for everything that has happened in her life, good and bad. Dana was abused by her step-father from the age of 12 years old until she left home. Through Celebrate Recovery Inside Dana learned to forgive her step-father and to appreciate her mother rather than blame her for her pain. Now that’s victory!!! Dana has since been released from prison and is now able to put to use some of her new learned skills to reconnect with family and friends. Pray for Dana as she adjusts to life on the outside and that she continues to grow in her relationship with Jesus.
Prison Ministry Team-Karla, Ana,Cheryl and AnabellIf you have not had the opportunity to join Francisco and I on this journey of bringing the lost and broken down the Road to Recovery, we would ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us. Your financial gifts will help us have an even greater impact in the lives of the Mexican people. Thank you to those who faithfully walk alongside us in ministry. Your prayers and generosity are the backbone of this ministry. Please pray for continued financial provision to accomplish all the work to which He has called us. Pray also that we will be good stewards of His resources, trusting that He will supply all we need “according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 Blessings, Cheryl & Francisco

Heaven Bound-Feb 2025
Dear Family & Friends,
2024 brought with it many beautiful memories. We ended the year celebrating the birth of Jesus at various events in our local church as well as hosting Christmas for our Celebrate Recovery participants and “Our Girls” inside the Ensenada Prison. It was a joy to gather with friends to worship, play games, feast on traditional Christmas dishes, and have lots of fun.
I awoke one morning and was reflecting back at the many people God had brought to Celebrate Recovery. Adults, youth and children who are loved and nurtured become emotionally, spiritually and physically healthy. We have seen many of our C R participants walk forth in their healing, and became strong servant leaders.
2024 came with struggles and victories. We have been through some challenging situations and circumstances that took us beyond our comfort zone. Our greatest challenge of all was saying “So Long, Never Good Bye” to three of our dear friends and servant leaders in Celebrate Recovery.
Pati was a leader of our women’s CR Spanish Step Study group at Calvary Rosarito before she left this earth and of stepped into the arms Jesus. She loved by all. Wes began serving alongside us leading a CR English men’s Step Study group, and went on to be the National Director of Broken Chains (an arm of Celebrate Recovery) before he graduated into Heaven. Miguel led a men’s CR Spanish Step Study group and was also the legendary wrestler “Rey Misterio” of Mexico. Our Celebrate Recovery family and the majority of Mexico feel the loss. Each of these Celebrate Recovery servant leaders had life changing experiences as they went through CR Step Studies. In turn, they brought others down the Road to Recovery. The most important victory for these three forever friends was that their names were written in the Book of Life. When their days on earth came to an end, they knew they would spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus. God is always at work around us. No matter what difficulties we face, we must endure and be confident God is in control and will give us the strength to face the difficult situations. Please join us in praying for the families of Pati, Wes and Miguel. If you have not had the opportunity to join us on this journey, we would ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us. Your prayers and financial gifts will help us have an even greater impact in the lives of the Mexican people. Thank you to those who faithfully walk alongside us in ministry. Your prayers and generosity are the backbone of this ministry. Blessings, Cheryl & Francisco
