A change of heart-Dec 2025

Greetings from Mexico Family & Friends,
We never get tired of the Christmas story!
In Bethlehem a child was born. Angels announced the spectacular event to the shepherds, who then visited baby Jesus. They went away praising God and spreading the Good News. From birth Jesus grew up to fulfill his mission on earth. He had a perfect ministry, and was the perfect sacrifice so we could have the greatest gift of all, eternal life with Him.
One of the most beautiful gifts of being missionaries is knowing we have found our mission. As Francisco and I watch Celebrate Recovery participants find purpose, direction and changed behaviors, we rejoice that God has placed us in a ministry that is perfect for us.

Angel’s story:
I came from a good family, yet, I left my family and turned to drugs. As my addiction worsened, I slept on the streets and ate food from trash cans. Eventually I found a job that allowed me to fulfill my dream of travelling. In my travels I got involved with people who transported drugs to the USA. Eventually l called my family and learned my mother had passed away and my family blamed me for breaking my mother’s heart. These accusations filled me with resentment and anger.
One day, my luck ran out. I was captured by the police and spent two years in prison. It was here that I recognized that life without God was meaningless. God opened the door for me to go to a Christian rehab center and eventually serve as an intern at Calvary Rosarito. Pastor Francisco invited me to join Celebrate Recovery. It was through Celebrate Recovery where I learned to recognize my character defects. By attending church and Celebrate Recovery I dealt with some of my character defects. Today, I am a different man who loves God and has made peace with my family. While interning with Calvary Rosarito I attend the Church Planting program and I have been called to plant a church in Veracruz. Please keep me in your prayers as I pursue God’s call on my life.
As we end 2025 and prepare to enter into 2026, we rejoice in knowing that our mission is to reach the lost and broken, which will make a difference in the lives of Celebrate Recovery participants and hopefully their family members for generations to come.
Thank you for walking alongside us in the Mexico Recovery Ministry. Your prayers and generous gifts are making a difference in the lives of the Mexican people.
“If you look for me at Christmas, you won’t need a special star; I’m no longer just in Bethlehem, I’m right there where you are.”
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our home to yours!
Blessings, Cheryl & Francisco
